Tina Goertz :: 3.0 ePortfolio: Communication Technologies and Networking
Up, up
and away!
In July 2009, I
was part of MDDE 610-Introduction to Current Distance Education Technologies.
One of the assignments was to form into a group, select a technology that interested
us and prepare a short demonstration of that technology for the rest of the
class.
With five (5) people in tow, we began our group assignment by discussing the
various technologies that were available to us and decided that we would discuss
cloud computing using Google docs as the platform.
We initially started discussing our topic in a discussion forum and slowly worked towards using Gmail as our communication of choice, not to mention using Google Docs as a way to keep track of our project planning.
Our group was very enthusiastic and after working flat out for the month of July, copious emails and multiple group forum discussions later, our assignment was complete and we presented on eight (8) sections:
As par for the
course, there were times when the assignment seemed never ending. However, the
group worked really hard at making the assignment just right and we posted the
assignment (smiles all around) as both a YouTube video and on a personal website.
What an exhilarating experience!
