Tina Goertz :: 5.0 ePortfolio -- Research

Research, research, research! For this section, I have chosen to discuss a booklet that I created for work and my paper from MDDE 602 entitled Scientific musings — the interpretive stage; clearly based on research methods. The interesting part for me was choosing which specific stage in the research formula that I would concentrate on. I ended up choosing "interpretation of the data" as I find that everything leading up to this part is eye candy. How and in what format you conclude your results can definitely make or break credibility -- especially yours!

Please take a look at my work addressing the above mentioned example:

====================================================================
Research for me is an essential element for any kind of work, academic or otherwise. Recently, I created a booklet that defined standards and guidelines based on the ADDIE process, working with various partners and accessibility claims. The booklet came to be 29+ pages, including templates and the top 12 accessibility must haves. It took me over 2 months to complete and over 200 hours of quality research. But guess what? I know the process now more than I ever have and it’s because I read every book, queried every standard and consulted across Canada before completing my booklet in full.
Research is not for the faint hearted, and it is true -- if I have learned anything, it is definitely how to research.

Due to the confidential nature of this booklet, I have not included it for review. However, if you take a look at the NHI Web-based Training Standards and Style Guide it is very similar.
